Storming the Castle

As a form of practice I decided to redo an old sketch of mine. Original is 9 years old and was done on gridded paper, thus lots of erasing was required to get it to look decent enough before I could use it.

I`m not entirely happy with it, for example the flame/smoke doesn't blend too well with the rest (I made the mistake of not adding the walls/floor underneath, thus I can't fade the edges) but I do like how the clouds worked out.

And yes, as it is an old sketch (9 years old!), the perspective is a bit off on the wall/barrier and the figure is slightly off too (especially the right arm).

Two days of work (possibly around 10-12 hours total).

Why is it in sword and sorcery? why, it's obvious... there's the sword, and I`m sure it took a lot of sorcery to get a balding guy in jeans to storm a castle made out of green stone
